I’d like to make my artificial tree white. Has anybody ever tried this? If so, what kind of paint? Any tips appreciated..! Thanks!

you know they do come in white… id just buy a white one. spraypainting something with so many crevices will be messy and costly. try ebay, i saw a few on there.

Would you pay to have your Christmas cookies baked for you?

Posted by admin on Feb 8, 2010 under christmas cookies

ok, If there was a "tasteing party" in late november, with all the cookie varietys and you can *pre-order* the cookies in dozens and pick them up close to christmas, would you do it?

especially if you were busy and didnt like bakeing?

also about how much would you pay a dozen?
the cookies are really yummy, & the’re big (about 3" in diameter).

also how much would you pay for a dozen assorted cookies wrapped individually and in a decorative, really classy gift bag?(the giftbag has a handmade ribbon with dried flowers…there really pretty, and not at all tacky)
OK. If you dont have time to bake your own christmas cookies, would you pre order fresh ones?
how much would you pay?

Thinking about starting a business? or you just curious? The holidays are a very busy time for most on top of a already busy schedule. I probably would buy a dozen or two especially if they were tasty and individual wrapped and decorated for a "special" party or too bring to someones house. I would also bake my own, just because thats what we do and it more of a tradition that I wouldnt want to break. As far as how much I would pay well I guess it depends how good they tasted and looked but probably around 10-15 dollars.

I like the Southern flair- but i am very open to suggestions..thanks everyone and happy holidays..

fruit salad…take a can of mixed fruit, drain, add cool whip (nuts, shredded coco nut if desired) and call it a day!! Thats one of the easiest, quickest things that I make….especially if I am on low on time & on $$$>

Where can I find string so I can attach it to my ornaments?

Any art supply store, though I’m sure the big stores like Target and Walmart will be carrying them.

How do you tell someone you don’t want to exchange Christmas presents with them?

Posted by admin on Feb 8, 2010 under christmas presents

I have decided to not exchange christmas presents with my cousin this year because of something that happened earlier this year that he did which hurt me tremendously. He acts like nothing happened and everything is fine. What is the best way to tell him that I don’t want to exchange presents this year? Thanks.

If ur going to buy for the whole family except him. at least get him something that u know he probably wont like or that u know he wont enjoy =] if its just u two exchanging gift amongst yourselves just come out and tell him u don’t want to do gift exchange this yr. If he asks why say u have ur reasons. If he keeps bugging u then be mean and tell him bc of what u did. If he doesn’t remember; remind him. =]

How to have abundance of Christmas lights without burning them out or power surge?

Posted by admin on Feb 8, 2010 under christmas lights

I want to have a huge Christmas lights display. We only have a two plug outlet in the garage that we can use as the power source. Problem is, I know that according to manufacturer’s instructions, they say that no more than three light strands should be strung together. We have many strands and individual reindeers, and some other separate displays. My husband is of no help because he just wants everything strung together and I don’t want to do all the work only to have a string or two burn out. Help please, thanks!

It would probably help if the christmas lights were on a parallel circuit. Then, each light would get the same amount of power and if one light goes out the rest of the starnd would still work. If it is not on a parallel circuit, the power would be less and less further along a line of lights. you could also try using a surge protector, then it could also be a power strip and the lights would not all need to be strung in one or to lines. Even better, you could use a surge protecter/power strip in combination with an extension cord in either order. Then, you could either have them split farher away from the garage or just have them star farther away from it. I hope this was helpful.
